Every year on National Trails Day, we head to Leverich to give this local favorite some much-needed TLC. This is Bozeman’s most popular loop and it sees a lot of tires throughout the riding season. Crews split up and address particular problem areas, smoothing-out berms, filling in ruts, and raking rocky corners. This is one of our biggest days of the summer, and we could always use another helping hand.
If you’re interested in joining us, register as a volunteer here. We will meet at 9am, get briefed by our trail-crew leaders, and then work until around 1pm. We’ll provide refreshments, but we also recommend bringing water, trail snacks, sun protection, gloves, and sturdy shoes. While it can be hot, long pants are also a smart option. SWMMBA will provide tools, but if you have your own, feel free to bring those as well.
We encourage folks to carpool and park at Nash Park if possible. Riding from town is also a good option, if you have the time.
This year, we’re stoked to announce that National Trails Day is sponsored by the good folks at Bridger Brewing and Zesty—plus Teton Gravity Research is throwing a casual afterparty and film screening at their downtown location after the dig. Join us there at 6pm for Accomplice.
