Support the SWMMBA Trails Fund
Every summer, SWMMBA volunteers gather for a trail-clearing weekend in the Henry’s Lake Mountains. The crown jewel of the region is Mile Creek, a true masterpiece that climbs 2,000 feet in five miles and leaves riders gasping for air as they soak up panoramic views of southwest Montana’s mountainous core.
This is what SWMMBA is all about: public lands stewardship, access accountability, and community development. Riding our bikes in this special corner of the world is a privilege, and in order to retain that access, we’re willing to show up and work hard.
As we head into 2022, we’ll have a lot more showing up to do. Projects like the Leverich Reroute, North Fork Connector in Big Sky, and Westlake Dirt Jumps Rebuild will require us to expand our trail-building capacity by hiring additional seasonal staff. We will be busy advocating for new land-management legislation through the Gallatin Forest Partnership. And our outreach and education efforts will continue to be a priority as newcomers and new bikers learn the ropes of our trails-loving community.
We hope that 2022 is another year of growth. To ensure that it is, please consider making a contribution to our Annual Fund. Your commitment will help us increase our impact, allowing us to show up once again for mountain bikers across the region.
Happy New Year,
Ian Jones, SWMMBA Board President
