Leverich Renovation
BOZEMAN’S MOST POPULAR BIKE TRAIL
Leverich Canyon trail gets a lot of traffic, between the hundreds of cyclists per day and tens of thousands of annual visitors. While we all love Leverich, some of us have had some rough experiences on those first few yards just outside of the parking lot. This old bi-directional section of trail has the potential to be dangerous to riders and hikers going uphill and downhill. Seeing a need for action, SWMMBA partnered with the US Forest Service to rehabilitate this section and separate an easier uphill section from a newly improved downhill section of trail. The result is a full loop trail which allows uphill hikers and bikers an easier access to the first few switchbacks, and a safer downhill experience back to the parking lot.
THIS PROJECT WAS MADE POSSIBLE BY OUR DIRT HEROES
Dirt Heroes are SWMMBA’s monthly donors, they allow us to plan years in advance, work over the winter, and hire employees to ensure that Mountain Biking is always improving. Without our Dirt Heroes, this Leverich project would not be possible.
